The Swiss Family Robinson: Flone of the Mysterious Island
Kazoku Robinson Hyouryuuki Fushigi na Shima no Furoune
Flone is the eldest daughter of the Robinson family, who have been doctors for generations in Bern, Switzerland. One day, her father, Ernest, receives an invitation to move to Australia. The entire family including her mother, Anna, and her brothers Franz and Jack, all board a ship bound for their new home. However, the ship encounters a great storm that puts all passengers in peril. The Robinsons aren't able to reach a life boat in time due to tending to the injured but are able to survive aboard a makeshift raft. The family then journeys to a nearby island with salvaged cargo and even some of the ship's livestock.
Life on this abandoned island is wrought with peril and they are even forced to move their home into the trees due to the terrifying beasts that dwell here. The Robinson family then begins to improve their situation by developing fields, refining salt and sugar, and even making candles. Once they realize rescue is unlikely coming for them, the Robinson family gets to work on constructing their own ship to escape the island...
